大年初一的早晨，我们都要吃上妈妈做的汤圆或面线。妈妈煮的汤圆有的是红色，好像是当我们吃了以后，意味着在新的一年里兴旺。吃面线和汤圆是我们民间的习惯。
从初一到初十，我们都要去亲朋好友家去拜年。拜年时，我们都会准备一些礼物，送给亲朋好友们，表示自己的一点小小的心意。
无论是亲朋好友来我们家做客，还是我们去亲朋好友家做客，我们小朋友总是能赚到便宜，因为小孩能拿到自己喜欢的压岁钱。一拿到压岁钱，别提有多高兴了。据说压岁钱可以避邪和避祟。避祟中的祟是压岁钱中的岁的谐音，意思是能我们在下一年里平平安安过着一岁。
家乡的春节十分的快乐，要说快乐，当然要属我们小孩子了。除了压岁钱的快乐，我们还有一个快乐，那便是放鞭炮。每当要准备引火时，在引火线上“嚓”的一下，鞭炮上就发出“刺啦刺啦”的火声音。
